The Basic Requirements for Scuba Certification

What do I need to do to complete my Open Water Certification?

The Open Water Certification program consist of three parts.

Class Room - This is the academic part of your training. You will learn about Scuba Equipment, Underwater Environments, and the Science behind scuba diving.

Pool - This is where you learn how to dive. During the pool sessions you will learn how to use Scuba Equipment and the various underwater Scuba skills.

Checkout Dives - During check out dives you will use the scuba skills you learned in the pool in an open water environment.

Are There Age Restrictions For Classes?

Open Water Certification can be earned by youth 10 years or older. There is no upper age restriction for adults.

Are There Restrictions For Medical Conditions?.

There are some medical conditions that unfortunately may mean you cannot participate in SCUBA.

The Sea Dogs - Venture Crew 501.

Crew 501
Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 15 through 21 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

"The Sea Dogs Mission"
to provide our members a fun and challenging Scuba Diving experience. Crew members get the opportunity to dive on a regular basis, improve their diving skills, and pursue advanced training/certifications.
