Enriched Air Nitrox Diver- Longer Bottom Times. Shorter Surface Intervals. These are among the many benefits of diving Nitrox — a mixture of nitrogen and oxygen in which the concentration of oxygen is greater thanthat found in air. You’ve no doubt heard of Nitrox, probably know divers who use it. You also know that using Nitrox safely requires special training and certification. You can complete most of the required academic study in thecomfort and convenience of your home or office. You’ll learn to dive Nitrox the modern way, using Nitrox-programmable dive computers. When you are done with the self-study portion of the course, you will meet with our instructor to review your final exam (academic review)and to take part in a brief, practical application session. Here you will get hands-on experience with oxygen analyzers and Nitrox computers.

Deep Diver - Diving below the 100 feet limit that has become the standard for open water divers, opens u p a different world, where undisturbed shipwrecks, unexplored caves, and tropical reefs teaming with life of unimaginable color and form are the norm. These are the attractions of deeper diving. But there is a downside. Deeper diving carries with it increased risk.
This course is designed to introduce you to those risks and their management in a comprehensive and enjoyable format. You will work your way through the six short chapters that make up the self-study portion of this SDI specialty course at your own pace and from the comfort of your own home. You will then particiapte in a Deep Dive Planning class with our Instructor, followed by two North Carolina Wreck dives with our instructor to master on the skills and techniques you'll need to become a safe Deep Diver.

Underwater Navigation - Experienced divers are intensely fascinated by navigation. It allows them to make their way back to a special spot discovered on an earlier dive. They use the tricks and techniques of navigation to find a safe exit point at the end of a dive without the need for an uncomfortable surface swim. And they draw comfort and reassurance from a reel and continuous line anchored near their ascent line when wandering around on a new and unfamiliar wreck. Your Underwater Navigation Specialty course will help you overcome the obstacles inherent in finding your way underwater. We will show you how easy simple navigation is and how it will help you both above and below the surface. We will discuss natural aids such as sand ripples or reef formations, which can accurately predict your route. Tools such as mechanical compasses are a surprising challenge to the novice but we will help you unravel the challenge and teach the practical skills and techniques you'll need to use them effectively. When you are done with the academics of this course, you will begin the exciting part of any dive course... diving! You will get hands-on lessons in how to prepare yourself and your gear for your first dives into a whole new world of possibilities.

You will participate on four North Carolina Wreck dives with our instructor to master on the skills and techniques you'll need to become a safe North Carolina wreck diver.
