Tips on Maintaining Your Gear
-
Have regulators serviced annually. Soak regulators in fresh water after each use. Dry and store.
-
Think about winter service cycles. A winter service cycle will permit the storage of gear in a clean condition.
-
Remember to store your gear inside the house, preferably in an extra closet. Garages are not good places to store gear.
-
After each use, be sure to rinse out your BC bladder with fresh water and drain as much water as possible.
-
Do not let your equipment air dry in the sun. Direct sunlight can cause hoses to dry rot and crack. It is best to let your equipment dry in the shade.
-
When storing tanks for the winter, never let all the air out. It is best to store tanks with air in them. With no air in the tank, it is possible for moisture to enter the tank and cause oxidation.
